Norwalk High School teacher guilty of sex with student

Alexa Nasonti, a 25-year-old former art teacher at Norwalk High School in Norwalk, Ohio, who was charged in June 2012  after she allegedly had sex with a student, has pleaded guilty to sexual battery for engaging in sexual conduct with a 17-year-old boy at a home in Bellevue.

Her guilty plea came in a deal that would give her no more than 18 months in prison, but she will be labeled as a sex offender. The sentencing is scheduled for October 29 at 9:30 a.m.

Castalia police said Nasonti was found with the boy on April 2 at 9 p.m. in a parked car at Lion’s Park near the Margaretta School District Board of Education Office. Hundreds of texts between a Norwalk teacher and her student led to criminal and administrative investigations as the messages hinted that there was sexual conduct between the two at a home in Bellevue on March 31.

Nasonti pleaded not guilty to a single count of sexual battery during an arraignment hearing in Sandusky County in June and She was released on a personal recognizance bond.

Sandusky County prosecutor Tom Stierwalt said his recommendation for sentencing will depend on the outcome of a pre-sentence investigation to be completed by the probation department. If the investigation indicates she deserves prison time, he'll request she be sentenced up to 18 months behind bars.

OC Mom guilty of sex with teen boy

Kathia Maria Davis, 45-year-old Orange County woman has been  found guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy. The jury could not reach a verdict on whether she did the same to a 13-year-old. Davis was found guilty of four felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was acquitted of one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and the jury hung on four counts alleging she performed lewd acts with a then-13-year-old boy.

Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Walker alleged Davis provided alcohol to members of her son’s hockey team and sexually assaulted at least two of them between 2005 and 2010. Authorities eventually were notified after the 16-year-old’s mother revealed to Davis’ ex-husband that her son admitted to having sexual liaisons with Davis.

Davis, who was taken into custody after the verdicts, could face up to five years in prison, Cohn said. However, she could also be placed on probation and might be able to serve her time in a county jail while avoiding a lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Davis’ home developed a reputation for being a “party house” where the hockey players could gain easy access to alcohol. The older boy, who was 16 at the time, had sex with the defendant in the summer of 2010, according to the prosecutor. Indignant parents confronted Davis at some point about the parties at her home and she promised to dial it down. Last summer, the boy and Davis had sex again on a couple more occasions and the boy eventually told his mother.
When confronted by investigators, Davis denied having sex with the older boy, but then later acknowledged it. Davis alleged the younger boy “came on to her and she rebuffed him”. According to Davis lawyer, his client consistently denied initiating any sexual contact with the younger boy. The boy and Davis’ son “got into alcohol” in the house and got drunk. As the two boys and Davis’ daughter were watching television and were dozing off, the 13-year-old tried to kiss Davis. “She shoved him away and said, `What the heck are you doing? This ain’t happening. You’ve had too much to drink,”‘ according to defence. Davis felt compelled to tell the boy’s mother what happened, but was “leery” because she was concerned that he had gotten drunk during a stay at her home. The defense attorney said even after the incident, the boy’s mother planned a trip to the Bahamas for her family and Davis’ family.

The defense attorney also denied his client supplied alcohol to the hockey players, saying the youths sneaked booze into the parties and would play “beer pong” in a garage while the adults were elsewhere in the house.

The older boy “became enamored of Kathia” and started sending his “crush” text messages saying he wanted to have sex with her and. Davis, who at at the time was going through a “tumultuous divorce ” eventually gave in to the boy, according to defence.

Davis faced a maximum sentence of 17 years and eight months in state prison if convicted on all charges.

Ex-Highlands teacher sentenced for sex with student‎

Andrea Conners, 33-year-old accounting and finance teacher at Highlands High School, Ft. Thomas.Kentucky, resigned in May 2012 after amid suspicion of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student. Married mother of two young boys was indicted on a charge of first-degree sex abuse stemming from a sexual relationship with 17-year-old male student during October and November 2011.
At first Mrs Conners denied everything, but a month later to avoit a trial teacher pleaded guilty on one count of first-degree sexual abuse. The plea came during only her second time in court on the charge. She allegedly had sex with the boy numerous times, both in classrooms on the school’s campus and at the teen’s home, prosecutors claimed, but her guilty plea meant that neither she nor the student had to testify in front of a court.
In August 2012 Andrea Conners was sentenced by Campbell County Circuit Court Judge Fred Stine to serve 90 days in jail and five years of probation. She must also complete 500 hours of community service and register as a sex offender for 20 years.
Her attorney Rob Dziech said his client was remorseful and that her ‘horrible mistake’ had ruined her ten-year marriage and damaged her relationship with her two sons. The former business and communications teacher has been married for more than a decade to the principal of a nearby junior high school, who reportedly stood by her in court during her hearing in June.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Michelle Snodgrass had recommended an 18-month sentence. She then told Stine details of the crime that hadn’t become public since Conners pleaded guilty to avoid trial. “There was sex in the school, in the classroom, state park, her parents’ home,” Snodgrass said. “This was not a one-time incident, your honor. This is not a one-time mistake. This was an ongoing sexual relationship between a teacher and her student.” She cited research that shows adolescent boys who engaged in sexual relationships with female teachers have an difficulties engaging in appropriate relationships as adults. She also told the court that the victim has been hospitalized four times, mainly related to issues of his anxiety and stress and that he blames himself for what happened.
Conners’ attorney, Rob Dziech, had asked for probation so his client could continue psychological counseling and her two young children could avoid the stigma of having a mother in jai.
